Viewpoint Bomenland - Observation point

The viewpoint Bomenland is located on the northern edge of the Bomenland forest area and offers a beautiful view over the dune valleys on the western side of Vlieland, all the way to the North Sea.
What makes this viewpoint special?
- Stunning view: From this spot you can overlook the vast dunes and valleys behind the forest – a perfect place to pause and enjoy the nature.
- Birdlife up close: In spring, thousands of herring gulls and lesser black-backed gulls nest here. With a bit of luck you can see the colony active in the dune area.
- Tribute to Rein Rollingswier: This was the place where the well-known bird warden monitored the breeding colonies. A plaque has been placed here in his memory, as a tribute to his passion and dedication to the nature of Vlieland.
- Peace and nature experience: The viewpoint is perfect for walkers who want to take a break during a hike through Bomenland or the surrounding dunes.
