Viewpoint Bomenland - Observation point

The viewing platform Bomenland is located on the northern edge of the Bomenland woodland area and offers a wonderful view over the dune valleys on the western side of Vlieland, all the way to the North Sea.

What makes this viewpoint special?

• Stunning view: From this spot you can look out over the vast dunes and the Valley of Malgum behind the forest – a perfect place to pause and enjoy the nature.
• Birdlife up close: In spring, thousands of herring gulls and lesser black-backed gulls breed here. With a bit of luck, you can see the colony active in the dune area.
• In memory of Rein Rollingswier: At this location, the well-known bird warden monitored the breeding colonies. A plaque has been placed in his memory as a tribute to his passion and dedication to the nature of Vlieland.
• Peace and nature experience: The viewpoint is ideal for walkers who want to take a break during a hike through Bomenland or the surrounding dunes.
