Hotel Het Posthuys is on the Postweg on the west side of Vlieland, surrounded by greenery, sea and beach. The postal route used to end here: the postilion rode about 8 km across the Vliehors to collect mail from the Texel post boat and then rested in this house.

Rooms: There are fourteen rooms, some still with the original pillars. The hotel is open all year.
Food and drink: Restaurant het Posthuys is known for its pancakes, such as the Vlielander with goat's cheese and cranberry chutney. There are also burgers and fish from its own smokehouse. An oven dish can be brought to your room.

Practical information

Extras: Your luggage is taken free of charge from the boat to the hotel and back. The bus stops at the hotel, and in the evening a free shuttle runs to the village for dinner guests.
Surroundings: The Vliehors Expres takes you west across the sand plain. The island is ideal for cycling and hiking.
